Encouraging independent learning
Challenge Day is an innovative program that encourages students to learn independently and in teams. The curriculum enables classes to get out of the school environment more often and learn through experience.
The Humanities and P.E. staff work together and team teach the class to provide a unique program and encourage their classes to engage in a range of physical challenges and experiences.
As part of Challenge Day, Physical Challenges can include bike riding, ice skating, indoor rock climbing, 1000 steps and various challenges at YMCA Lake Dewar.
Students will also participate in visiting various attractions in the Melbourne CBD such as Parliament House, Shrine of Remembrance and Old Melbourne Gaol .
When at school, students participate in a variety of team challenge activities building leadership, trust, team work and thought processes. Students will also have the opportunity to earn their Fist Aid Certificate.
