Here at Copperfield College, we pride ourselves on providing a well-rounded Arts and Technology education. In year 7, students experience the Arts in Art classes, working safely in a workshop with hand tools and small machinery in Technology classes. They also start learning to prepare good healthy nutritious foods in Food Technology classes. They learn the basic skills of sewing and getting to know basic construction in Textiles classes. By year 8, students can also start showcasing their creative talents for Music in Music classes and instrumental instructions.
By year 9 level, students are further exposed to more Arts and Technology choices by selecting elective subjects from the following options. These are designed to immerse them even more in the Arts and Technology, which may become their career pathway:
Studio Arts, Visual Communication, Music, Theatre Studies, Dance, Media, Information Technology, Materials Technology, Textiles, Bakehouse, Snacking for Teens and Robotics.
Robotics has a very well credentialed Robotics Club who have won interschool Robotics competitions around the state. The College also has well equipped STEM Makerspaces where students can learn and experience hands on project planning and building.
